The morning of the 27th was yet another fine day in Geneva, after breakfast we packed and headed for the airport, courtesy of Mavis & Michel.
We were scheduled on a 12 noon BA flight to London, with a long layover until the flight to Hong Kong. Our onward flight from Heathrow was with Qantas, and it was a pleasant surprise to discover that we could check our luggage right thru to HK, as well as getting our boarding passes for both legs, this saved probably an hour or so in Heathrow.
We departed Geneva on time, landing in London on time at 12:40 PM local time. So now a long wait until the scheduled departure time of 10:00 PM from Heathrow to HK, which allowed us plenty of time to transit between terminals and go thru the departure procedures all over again. I had deliberately allowed plenty of time in case there were flight delays and I also thought that we would need to claim our luggage, change terminals and check in again.
So time spent updating blog posts, checking email, reading eBooks, as well as working our way thru the wines on offer at the Qantas lounge.
Another pleasant surprise, I had requested an upgrade to Business using points and this came thru - excellent, better meals, better wines, better service and best of all the chance to sleep in a fully reclining seat.
Yes and we are upstairs in the 747 - cool
A relaxed flight to HK taking advantage of the business class level of service.
