Boston - for a long weekend

A lazy day today as we are flying to Boston for a long weekend, another city that we are visiting for the first time.

So a day of getting the washing up to date, not so exciting, but necessary.

We headed off to the airport in a town car (think limo, hire car) leaving the Village at about 3:30PM via 42nd St out thru the midtown tunnel to JFK Airport. When we started out the sky was looking decidedly dark, and on the way it started to team down, with a few thunderstorms about. There was also water on the freeways, so the thought was that our flight would be delayed. Yes it was from a 6:30PM flt delayed to 8:00PM.

Ken made the call to have Tapas at the airport, as we decided that we would get to Boston too late to check in and find a place for a meal at a reasonable hour. Bad call for the Tapas, the waiter was over friendly, too much chat and not enough service, then the "new" chef had apparentlydecided to change the way Tapas was served from full serves to "tasting plates", so you would think doubling the order would be easy, way hard but Anne succeeded in getting thru. Finally boarded at about 7:20, with the scheduled take off for 8PM, left a little late, as we seemed to be taxiing to Boston, but that is part of JFK airport long taxi ways.

Anyway, finally got to Boston, a short cab ride to the Hotel and that was enough for today as it was now about 11PM after we had checked in.

Look forward to more exciting posts than this one as we hit Boston over the weekend
