First couple of days in the windy city - Chicago

We arrived in Chicago after a delayed flight from San Francisco. As well as a delayed flight we were not seated together, just don't understand the way these airlines work work here in America.

Anyhow we arrived OK, our checked in bags were some of the first off, Win's in fact was the first bag off, how good was that. Grabbed a cab no problem and off to our hotel, a little boutique hotel to catch up with Ben & Anne.

After a few pre-dinner drinks we headed out to a top steak restaurant, The Rosebud Steakhouse. I went for the small 8oz filet, which was more than enough, cooked exactly as I had asked medium rare, as did Anne & Win. Ben went for something a little more substantial. Check out the menu on the website. Top class wines as well. Top restaurant with top food and excellent wines as well.

It was then time to move onto the venue for the Wallabies V Ireland game, which fortunately, or unfortunately was being shown live at 3:30AM on Saturday morning at an Irish pub. The night started well with continued drinking but ended in great disappointment at about 5:30AM with the Irish running out well deserved winners.

I was a little slow when I eventually woke up at about 10:30, we then headed out for brunch which we had well after noon at yet another Irish establishment.

We then faced the beautiful sunny day in Chicago, walked thru Millennium Park looked at the big silver jelly bean, as well as the Buckingham Fountain, after checking out the fountain, we walked over to Navy Pier which is a focal point on Chicago's lakefront.

The rest of Saturday to be continued.....
